TRANSFERS: Manchester United and Leicester both after Nigerian forward
BY Patrick van Straatenon Jan 29, 2016

Manchester United and Leicester City enter the last few months of the season in very different positions. Leicester are unexpectedly top of the league, and are in pursuit of an unlikely Champions League place. United on the other hand have seen their slim title hopes fade and are now hoping merely to secure a top four finish.

And both are keen to reinforce their attack in the final days of the January transfer window, and have identified CSKA Moscow’s Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa as a target, according to the Express.

Musa is a quick and skilful 23-year-old, who already has ten goals this season, and has made over 150 senior appearances for CSKA since joining in 2012.

The Express report says that Leicester have had a £15.1m bid for the player rejected, and his current club are holding out for £18.9m.

If United are interested, a deal could happen very quickly, and Musa would presumably jump at the chance to move to a bigger league.

But Leicester are ahead of them in the race, and the Premier League’s financial strength could show itself once again if they can strike a deal this January.
